I got these sweet new grips from Pro Grip and they are like super soft. My problem is I've tried a product called GOOP and some Super 77 spray adhesive to get the grips to stay put and they keep rolling on me. It is hard trying to keep your speed when the grip lets the throttle slide inside it.
Any idea on what I can do to stop this? I'm getting really tired of it.....I applied the adhesives and let the bike sit for 24 hours to dry and they seem dry when I mount my trusty GS then after about an hour they start to slide and roll.

Dumb question but did you get the right size?  I know most people say to use hair spray will act as a lube when you slide the grip on and then act as a glue once it dries.

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

Well...I'm pretty sure they are the right size. The sales rep at Cycle Gear looked it up in the Pro Grip book and told me they would fit perfect. Now that you mention it.....They might just be a little big....I never heard of the hair spray trick.

I'm guessing that they're the wrong size.  I have Progrip 719s and they're solid as a rock with just a little bit of that spray adhesive.

++  I didn't even use adhesive. :dunno_white:  I've had no problems with slippage.

It sounds like you may have the wrong size.  They should not slide on by themselves.  You have to lube them up with Scotch 77 or hairspray.  The third option is to turn them inside-out and roll them on like a condom.

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

k wanna know the secret to new grips? Hairspray. yup I said it. Get some hair spra lube up the grips and the bar slide them on, adjust and let them set. Come back in 5 minutes and they're stuck like glue  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

hairspray is fine. i use it on my bike grips and theres no reason why it wouldn't work on motorcycle grips. you just have to let them sit for about 24hrs.
