I havent snapped any off yet or anything but as a preventive measure I am going to get some bolts for when I do my oil change this week along with the washers for the carbs. So how do you just remove them?

Also forgot to ask how long should the bolt be, I see it is a M6x1.00 but no length recommended on Pantablo's website.

I was thinking thread pitch it cant be 1mm long and all the metric stuff is usually like M6x1.0x35mm usually dont mix and match metric and english sizeing.

I'm jsut guessing-I usually take a bolt with me and have the guy at hardware store match it up.

If you're easy with removing and reinstalling them you shouldn't have a problem...just don't try to crank them down. I got them snug and kept checking for leaking but there wasn't any...so its they don't need to be cranked down much.

I havent broken mine yet but they look cheap and easy to break, and wanted to get stuff before I changed the oil instead of in the middle of the change!

Looking at pics the studs look about 3/4" long So I will try that. Maybe get some sizes around it too, its only 3 bolts.

Uh yeah, the 1.0 is a 1 mm thread pitch. Probably 20 mm would be about right

I'd be a bit careful changing from studs to bolts. Suzuki did use the studs for a reason. Studs get screwed into the soft aluminum block once, and unless you break them, they stay there for the life of the engine. The steel cap nut threads onto the nice steel stud. The stud threads are tough and hard, at least compared to the threads in the cases.

If you use bolts, you have to thread into those soft aluminum threads every oil change. The potential for screwing up the cases, having the threads gall onto the steel, or just tearing out those threads, goes up a lot.

Personally I'd leave the studs. If you are breaking them, you are going to f*ck up the case threads for sure.

Wasnt too hard to remove them and for the record I used 25mm M6x1.00 bolts and lock washers all in stainless steel. I looked for a stud in a better metal while I was there and didnt find anything so I went with the bolts.
