I took my first road trip today on the GS. I decided to go to Mt Washington in NH.  I had checked the weather report at around 10am this morning, and it said it was going to clear up by the afternoon.  I wanted to travel up the autoroad to the top of the Mt, but after an exhausting 4hr trip to the mountain, I got there to only find out the road was closed to motorcycles that day because of excessive mist, ie low visibility at the summit. Sigh.. I plan on going again as this is something I wanted to do for a while now, hopefully before the end of the summer on a better day.

Total one way Trip miles - 192.44 miles
Total - 384.88miles
Time - 10hrs - Lunch in the White Mountains area, pretty good scenery, with the sun breaking through the clouds at times.  Lots of rest stops, I rode 2up and my passenger needless to say had a weak bladder and made numerous requests for the nearest reststop.

The grass is always greener..... I would KILL for a good mist right now....  8)

Sorry you didn't make the whole trip you wanted, but it sounds as though you had quite an adventure! As for your companion's small bladder leading to frequent stops, look on the bright side: the stops probably kept the circulation going in both your booties! ;)

Take your digi cam next time you take this trip so we can all live vicariously!  :thumb:
