Hi ya'll,

Been real busy getting home from the desert and taking care of all the "Honey dos" that built up over a year.  :icon_rolleyes:

Though I would stop by and check in I see that Rich has moved on!  :o
Man that sucks.  Last week I buried an Army buddy who made it thru Iraq but then went out and bought himself a GSXR1000...  My condolences to Phaed's family and every one here (which is his extended virtual family).

Nobody else gets to die or I will come pour nasty old motor oil all over your grave, ya got that!?!

Anyway, I am really missing my GSs... I'd love to find a sad neglected GS to restore, but finances and time don't seem to have it in the cards right now. Maybe in a bit.
Musing over this raised an old question I had a while ago. Does anyone have the eye to eye length of the stock GS's dogbones? I have a project...

Everyone stay safe, and enjoy the summer.

Nice to see you made it back alright, man it seems like it was forever ago that you left

pandy

Hey, James!

Are you home for good now?

I'm so sorry about your bud.

If I recall correctly, you're on the east coast? I have a project GS that could use someone who will give her TLC, but the east coast is kind of a long way for her to go...   :icon_confused:

I hope you find the project bike, and I hope we see more of you!

I get blamed for EVERYTHING around here!
:woohoo:

dgyver

I was wondering what happened to you.

If you feel the need to work on a bike....I have 2 almost finished and at least 2 more planned.

If I remember tonight and no one else has yet, I will get the measurements of the dogbones.

Thanks all.  8)

Dgyver - Are you building a fleet?

Actually I have more projects than I can handle right now. On our trip out west, Lita's Guzzi spun a big-end bearing, so I have it completly torn down right now.  Once that is done and I get the shop actually finished, then I can see about finding a pet GS.

Sometime this summer (I promise!) I will come haul all that bodywork stuff off from you.

Well, it did not start that way...but...after buying a couple of frames (up to 6 now), a few parts here and there I ended up with more than 4 bikes worth of stuff. The plans are 2 street and 2 track bikes. I need my crash spares.  ;) Actually...my g/f rides but does not have a bike, so I was planning on giving her a bike. I hate riding 2 up.

No problem with bodywork. I have put it aside except for the personal projects. Ironic that the last couple parts I made were near perfect.

The Dgyver GS army ... a sorta pathetic army ... but sure can fight with common sense ...
Good to know you made it back JamesG ...
Yea no one gets to die ... sorry about your buddy as well ... and phaed too ... we need to remember them fondly and not doi stupid crap and die ... My co worker ... sat next to me for a month ... died on a country road couple months ago ... crossed the double yellow and hit a truck going the other way ... stupid, but none the less sad ...
Cool.
Srinath.

Welcome back!  Thank you for your service.  My condolences to you and your buddy's family.  Same to you Srinath.

Pandy - I'm having a woman on an XT225 talking to me about GS's on my commute.  Are you looking to sell?
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
