04 fairings on a 01.....possible?

with a welder and some tabs, and some time, and some engineering, and LOTS of money.

Why put fairings on?

Don't really need any welding. You can made an upper bracket adapter with a couple of 1 1/4" U clamps, and you can pop rivet the rear brackets onto the frame. Thats what Suzuki does...

Do need to weld, the side tabs are screwed into threaded inserts welded into the frame.

i bet it would be cheaper to sell the 01 and buy an 04 than the parts cost for the conversion

Here is a picture of the side "bungs" or inserts that are welded into the frame...

Here is a picture of the front tab that the front fairing brace mounts to...
