Would love to have one just so that I know I'm in 1st at a stop light.  I have stalled the bike because I thought I was in 1st but I was in 2nd or 3rd.

Hah.. when I'm sitting at a light, I'll compulsively kick the shifter down at least twice when I'm slowing down, already in first, and I'll usually kick it at least once while I'm waiting, and then I'll kick it again when the light turns green, just to be sure... I feel OCD.. but I'm always in first!

I'm also a compulsive turn signal checker. I randomly click the switch, just in case they're on, and I didn't notice the idiot light. Dumb, I know... but I hate when people leave their signals on, and I don't want to become one of them...

I follow this exact pattern when I ride, especially the turn signals. When I first got the bike, I'd always forget to turn off my signals during the day time since there's no loud clicking like in my car, and the stock indicator light isn't exactly noticable during the daytime. I've gotten much better at turning them off after a turn now, but I still randomly hit the button just in case.

That gear indicator is cool for extra bling-bling, but yeah it is really not needed after you get to know your bike. After some time you will know what gear your in by your speed to RPM ratio.

And after I went all LED on the instrument lights I've always been able to notice the shift from second into first or vice versa, its now very hard to miss when the neutral indicator lights up between those shifts, even on the sunniest days here in FL.
Being naked was great, but now that I'm older I thought I should cover up!!!!

Mods?  What mods, no really its stock!!

NGFL, I constantly check for 1st at a light and my blinkers as well.  I find that I check to make sure my blinkers are off especially when approaching an intersection where I plan to go straight.  I wouldn't want a cage darting out in front of me assuming that I'm turning left or something.

Here's the thread for the gear indicator that I built last year.

It's still working great.

Wow! That's look like a very neat mod. Thanks a lot John!  :thumb:
