so last night after looking at a ton of different bike options for side markers/turn signals, i decided to order from ridegear.com.   needless to say, the prices were right, and i even bought a new helmet.     :icon_razz:   so all day today, i was thinking how psyched i am about changing out those lame ass ones, and getting some that help the appearence of the bike.

then ridegear.com emails me and says that all 3 of the items i ordered are on backorder, and wont be here until mid to late august.  i know that august is just around the "bend", but dammit, i wanted them now.  i really wanted them about 5 months ago when i bought the bike.  i dont know if i should cancel and try to find similiar prices elsewhere, or wait until christmas to get a set a neat little turn signals.

i hate when companies list everything and say that it is all in stock when you order, and then just tell you they dont got it, (they lied) and then they go and order it from some other company and mark it up and then sell it to you a month later.  bastards.

I'd cancel and re-order with another company. That's a very long time to wait for something unless they're willing to throw you a bone and give you a considerable discount off of your order for wasting your time.

Around 2 months ago i orderd a F18 windscreen from another companys wbebsite, that was a monday. On friday they email me to say the part is backorderd. On monday afternoon i call cust service they tell me it could take weeks to get the part, so i cancel then make sure they they took it off my bill. Well they did take off bill and 1 hour later it comes UPS i still have not paid for it. Give them time

That's definately an oddity and a rare experience. Usually any good company has a lid on where their products are. Often times though, in cases like you describe, the company you bought the part from doesn't actually stock the item but drop-ships them. They never see the part. They just take your money and send a postage-paid box to the supplier and you get your part. Still though, I'm surprised that they said it could take weeks when the item was already in-transit. Just sounds like someone was a little too lazy to do any checking for you.

And speaking of karma in this situation, you could say that the bad karma fell on them for waiting a week to tell you the item is on back-order. Good companies should tell you within one business day of receiving your order if the item is listed as IN-STOCK when you place it.
