just wanted to say hi to everyone...since i finally got my first motorcycle.  i picked up a 97 gs500e for $1200 today.  it needs a bit of work (mainly adjusting the idle and probably cleaning the carbs), but i think she'll do!  this is a great site...and it was a big reason i picked the gs500.  well...i'm off to get better acquainted with my bike.  yee haw!!

Excellent!  Glad to hear it!  The GS is a great bike and there is nothing like the rush of riding your first bike.  Glad to have you aboard!  Post up some pictures when you get a chance!

I have to disagree with 97's being the best. Of course I am partial to 02's. I wonder why. Welcome to the board. Have fun on your new bike and be safe!

Ok, you have to give the 90's props, but c'mon now.   :icon_mrgreen:   The '01 -'02, are still naked, but updated. How can you argue that?

96's are the best!  They're the only year Suzuki didn't grace their frames with that gawdawful silver/fake aluminum look.  96's with 89 clipons are even better.   :icon_mrgreen: :icon_razz:

Welcome to the board!  A word of advice:  Don't take us too seriously.

Enjoy the new ride, wear all your gear all the time, and watch out for cages.   :thumb:
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Ahh, how true. But unfortunately incorrect.

The '05 naked models are the prettiest.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.
