A friend of mine is selling his bike that he bought new. Its a 1996 GSXR 1100 (all stock)  4500 miles always garage kept. New front rim and tire (hit a pot hole last year). The bike needs new rear tire soon and 1 of the bar ends fell off.  He told me $4000 and i can have it what do you think??????

Do you want to buy a 10-year-old bike that has had 450 miles a year on it?

Do you want to buy that bike from a friend?

Awesome bike, anvil reliable, torque everywhere.  Still, a little high for a bike of that vintage.  I would look for pricing more in the $3k range if not a little below.

I've heard the 1100 is a freaking torture rack.

A very fast torture rack, but a rack none the less.
Rich, RIP.
