Suzuki (UK) advertises the '06 naked bike as 174k dry weight, given that none of it is lightweight materials, frame and wheels are steel I would guess that engine and gearbox accounts for about a third of the weight max, say about 58k / 127 lbs.

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

I was able to lift it off the ground by myself, but only just barely.  I'd call it 150 lbs. give or take.

dgyver

I weighed one on a scale at 140lbs.
Common sense in not very common.

Well there's one for sale ofr a good price, but it's too far to drive, but riding there might be a possibility.........

It's a pretty awkward sized 140ish pound load. Try to strap it on your passenger seat? Doubt you'll be able to get enough tie downs to keep it on there. Also, since it's 140 some odd ounds of concentrated mass it will throw off your balance point by a lot. Your center of gravity will be a lot higher now as it is 140lbs perched high up. There also won't be enough friction between the tie down straps and pretty much anything on the bike to keep the engine from shifting around, especially if you tip in for a turn.

Now, if you built a little trailer... that is a different story alltogether.

Well I've ridden with a 23" widescreen CRT like a backpack.....

I was thinking more of strapping mostly to me. Painful, probably, worth it for a 100 dollar runner? Probably.

But if it's within 325 miles it is feasible with a car, if within 500 miles it is feasible with the bike. Beyond that, not feasible at all.

I've heard it costs about 100 to ship an engine, I can't pay that.

Around $80 with Forward Air.

Strapping it to you: still probably not a lot of friction. At least, not enough to hold the engine there. It is much different than riding with a pillion, where their mass is spread out over a larger area, not concentrated into one 2' x 2' x 2' block (essentially). Pillions are also able to use the pegs to counter the forces pulling them down. The engine, not so much.

Seriously, build a cute little trailer that attaches to your swingarm or passenger pegs and stick the engine in there. It would look cute and possible even work.

I think their minimum is $68, so give them a call and ask. They might be able to help you out. Also, you'll probably have to end up paying with a money order if you ship from their. Here in Austin you can only pay with a Credit Card if you have an account set up with them, otherwise it is money order only. No cash accepted. When I shipped stuff out from here I got the total, then drove to a conveniant store near by and got a money order for the amount, then brought it back. So yeah, make sure there is a place that does money orders close by.

Dude, is it really like that?  Like you can afford $60 but not $80?

CirclesCenter

Yep.

And I can't really afford the 60. Lol

How far do you have to ship it?  Fed ex ground will do a Gs engine...and I'm sure it will be 80$ or less ....

When the 2nd Amendment is lost, the rest will soon follow.
