Wanted to put the word out for an impromptu ride this Sunday, 10 o'clock, meet @ the Starbucks on El Camino and Lawrence.  We're gonna take the 9 to the top, stop @ four corners and then take Hwy35/Skyline Blvd. to Alice's Restaraunt!

The more the merrier!  Hope to see you there!

p.s.: sorry for the short notice.

Bah, I have to hit a company picnic on Sunday. But it is in Santa Cruz... and I don't have to be there until 11 or so...

Maybe I'll ride up to 4 corners with you all and head over the hill from there.

You could ride the 9 up and over.

Edit: Oh, and we'll go from Alice's to wherever your heart's content...

Hmm, maybe I'm confused. Are you going from Starbucks to Saratoga and up 9 from there?

Yes.  *$'s to Lawrence to Saratoga, fill up @ 76 station on the right-hand corner there and proceed up 9.  :)

Sorry, but I won't be making it. Maybe we should have another BAGS later this month.

I was thinking at the end of this month, but I don't know what the wife has plans for, yet.

We'll see... <rubs hands evilly>  :icon_twisted:

Closing flightplan log.

I was alone for this ride, but I paced myself; especially on "not-so-familiar" Pescadero, because there's this one turn that just sneaks up on me.  It got cold near the coast, so I turned around, but I treated myself to going up Alpine (the rumored goat trail), it's not that bad, and the views are breathtaking; I've got to remember to bring the camera next time, but this wasn't planned.  Then across 35 and down Page Mill (another rumored goat trail), it's bumpy at the top and near the bottom, but everything in between was a treat.  :)  Then back up Page Mill, turned left on 35 to four corners, and then down 9.  All-in-all, a very good ride.  :thumb:

I don't know why we don't go back on the same roads that we take.  Something to think about for the next ride.

I got 62mpg.

Okay, how about the 27th?  Of this month.

I'll take suggestions for a route, otherwise I'll use the ol' standby.

Hmm, the 27th sounds good. It's the last Saturday before I have to make the painful "college football or riding" decision each morning.

As for the route, I'm becoming increasingly fond of 84 and Pescadero. How long a route are you thinking of? Soquel-San Jose was fun last time, but that's basically the opposite way from the 84/Pescadero area.

It's Sunday.  Actually, 84 to Pescadero is the ol' standby (Gazo's Creek to 1, to Davenport for lunch.  Then Bonnie Doon to Empire to Felton-Empire into Felton on 9).

I like to do all day routes, but I have to consider everybody's time and endurance (we want to have beginner riders want to come back riding with us!  :icon_mrgreen: )

We could do 84 and Pescadero, turn around and go back up them!

Then go down Woodside, come up King's Mountain, left on 9 back to Alice's!

Whereabouts is this?

Somewhere is California? I can do that :)

I might need a place to crash if I come down though. :) Motel 6 doesn't rent unless you're at least 21. (only a few more months damnit.)

It's about 250~ miles for me if it's where Scratch is.
Rich, RIP.

Tim, sorry I missed your post on BARF.  I could have probably ridden with you this weekend but didn't catch it until about an hour too late.  I think I'm out of town for the 27th though.     I'll keep an eye out for another one.  This coming weekend maybe?  I  :kiss3: Pescadero.

Got my older son's b-day this weekend.  I'm really stretching the marriage for this second ride in the same month.  Bob Broussard is going to host a ride next month (September), down south; Santa Cruz, maybe coming up (north, I'm conjecturing).

CirclesCenter - Santa Cruz mountains/San Jose.  We got some $10 a night dives on 13th Street  :icon_mrgreen: - Just Kidding!  You definitely don't want to do that! <shudder>

And, I may do another in October.

Sounds great . . . I'll try to keep an eye out for those.  And Happy Birthday to your son and congrats to you!   :thumb: 8)

Sorry scratch, but I can't make it. It was supposed to be bike maintenance today and ride tomorrow, but I had to go look at bikes with my dad today. Bad news is that means I've gotta work on the bike tomorrow instead, but the good news is he'll  probably have a Monster in his garage shortly. Gotta keep up the family naked bike tradition after all.
