You will actually notice more people crashing at the begining of the nice weather (when everyone is rusty from having their bikes in storage for the winter months)

Of course, people in the southern states are asshats...  They can ride around ALL YEAR LONG

When you try to improve your cornering abilities, you run certain risks. Thats what happened with me.

Wasn't it a front brake faux pas that happened to you?

I know all about pushing it a little too hard in corners...  The best solution I've found is to practice hanging off and using your body weight to move the center of gravity over...  Then you don't have to lean as much...  Which lets you lean more...  Which lets you corner faster...   :icon_mrgreen:

The worst two corners I've done both had to do with the lead in...  I wasn't on the outside of the corner and I was going way too fast.  One of them I totally let off the throttle and use the rear brake to slow down enough to get it into 2nd, then I slowly powered through it....  Phew!

The other corner wasn't so nice...  Again I wasn't outside and was going too fast...  Add on some overconfidence, since I'd NAILED the corner the last time I rode it...  Then throw a passenger on the back.  OMFG I had my life flash before my eyes as I was grinding the center-stand and STILL coming over the center line around a blind corner...  My only thought was "LEAN, LEAN, LEAN!!!"  But, if I'd leaned more, I stood a great chance of pivoting off my tires...  Then my thought was about the next 30 years of hearing my wife say, "I sure wish I could wear a skirt, but NOOOOOO...  You had to take that corner too fast and crash the bike, now I have this HUGE scar on my leg!" :o

Anyway...  Big risks shouldn't be taken on roads...  Stick to small risks.  And practice hanging off. :thumb:

I have the perfect remedy against crashing/bike-drops: I just don't ride the gs  :thumb: :thumb:

I think by the time I actually hit the front brake it was far too late. I think I would have gone over the corner anyway, it was just yet another error. The biggest ones were taking a blind corner too fast and not trusting my tires enough.
