A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof, is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools....

Close to the cylinders?  Where are you mounting it.  Mine's mounted between the petcock and the carbs, nowhere near the cylinders.

Makes a huge, difference, too.  Catching all kinds of crud.

i dont have very much room to work with, if i shift where i have the current one mounted it will be too close to the "hot" parts of the motor aka. cylinders..

right now where i have the filter it kinks the fuel line, if i run extra fuel line it put the filter w/in range of getting to close to hot stuff.
so...
yeah...

damn gs....  :icon_razz:

You take the airbox off, and fasten the filter directly to the carbs.

 NOOB questions follow:

   Would a lunch box fit a 2006 gs500F?

   Is the K & N filters SU 5589, the so-called pods?

Which is considered better the lunch box or the SU 5589?

Thanks!

The links explained a lot...

However now I would like to know,

the part number for a K & N crankcase filter that can be used to complete the installation of a lunchbox air filter?

and how much do they usually run for?

Still debating over SU 5589 or a lunch box for an F model  (trying to figure out $$$ and installation conveniences for both).... Any help!

                                                                                                               Thanks!
