My experience went like this.

I stood next to it at the dealer,

Lifted my leg like I was going to monkey laser ninja kick someone in the head and BARELY mounted the monster, (An inch or so lower and I would have kicked it over)

Then realized I could barely tiptoe it. Probably only one foot the beast.

Then I asked for help getting off of it.

And I'm six feet tall.

rode 10500 miles in 16 days on one.  Loved the seat and the power of the 1000 vtwin.  But I must caution that if you put so much weight on the back that you can barely get it up with two people prying on the swingarm stand it will wobble.  just needed the forks dropped if you are pack over 225 on the back.  wobbles like a mad man if not. but when has a bike not wobbled with over 225 on the back.  survived two dumps on the dalton highway and 13.5 hours in the 6 inch mud and muck.  I definately would recommend one to anyone and they corner awesome, i rode the tires to the edge and was scraping my feet with that weight on the back on stock tires.  But dont expect the bike to be anything for off road like a bmw, very woosie when it comes to it.  But then again we were running 70 on the dry sections hitting the bulldozer tracks and all.  As long as you stick to dirt roads its great but any real offroad with large bumps and harsh potholes your better with another bike.  But real awesome bike though, loved every single mile of the 10500 i did on it.

The 650 "wee-Strom" is on my short list for the next bike.   :thumb:

Sat on a couple of 'em at dealerships.  I'm 6 foot, no problems getting on & off.
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

see if we get the kawi versys 650 before you buy a wee strom. I have the ninja 650, and I would expect the kawi will be narrower and a little lower given the design and exhaust/battery/shock placement.
