Hell yeah.  Just wait.  Clip ons, K&N, pegs, exhaust & more coming this week.  Oh...and someday I'll take good pictures of the dang bike.  I still don't have any with the headlight.

I paid more than I would like to admit for the headlight and brackets.  If you are patient (I'm not) you could easily find all of it for around $40-50.  SV headlights seem hard to come by...Alpha and I have been looking pretty hard for a while.

And the clear SV lense looks way cooler than the GS one...

Check out the svriders.com forum...  You might be able to find one there.

yep, thats where I got mine for $25.

pic I have handy is on the site: http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id49.html but I may have more. nope, just checked. thats it.

its a really nice cosmetic upgrade. if you have the naked model you can only use the lens as the site says. if you have the F then you're going to need the mounting ears too, and you might be able to use the whole assembly from the SV including the ears (check fork diameter). It was pretty easy but you have to be really careful drilling the adjustment hole in the GS bezel.

Oh come on! I totally did the Naked F Model before he did! He copied me! What gives??

I get no love around here...

Turd - What's goin' on man?? You've got this big list of mods comin' and I haven't heard anything! You always IM me at random times (when I'm sleeping) and then sign off. Come on dude, leave me a bit more of a message than that!

Shameless photo whoring:

Kat wheel and Pilot Powers go on tomorrow. Will pull the carbs and rejet (again) on the 26th or so. Track prep on the 26th/27th.

Yeah so anyways, Alpha's bike is way sexier.  Sadly, our list of mods has turned out to be nearly the same though Alpha has a few more goodies installed.

Alpha, according to your away messages, you occasionally work and constantly sleep.  I've been busy as hell with work so I'm not around the computer much.

Oh, and just to threadjack a bit more...I've been thinking it would be fun to plan a trip down to Texas or even meet you somewhere cool in the middle just to hang out.  Sadly...we would look like total idiots/lovers because our bikes are identical and I'm a 6'0" tall lanky kid with dark hair and glasses.  It would look like a friggin Double Mint commercial.

Hi all,
Turd, that is a nice looking GS500, but I don't think the routing of your front brake line is safe out there in the wind on the right side of the forks.
Instead, the stock mounting, where the brake line is tucked inside the forks and under the triple tree, is safer because then there isn't even a REMOTE chance that the line can get snagged on something and be damaged or caught as you ride.
OK, maybe I'm being overly cautious, but I have NEVER seen anyone route a brake line like you have and I've been riding and working in motorcycle shops for 31 years.
I just want us all to be safe, buddy.
Take care,

I think you're talking about my bike (which, consequently, looks pretty much EXACTLY the same as his). I am actually using the stock mounting for the brake line on my bike. It even has clamps there from the factory that hold the SS line along its path.

Yeah, I've been thinking about riding to Kansas. But then I remembered that Kansas is boring and flat. It's 675 miles between our cities. Doable in one day, but tough. Oklahoma is the nearest state, and Oklahoma City is almost right in the middle, easily a one day trip for both of us (about 300 miles for you, 350 for me). Hmm... if I had a 3 day weekend free... DUDE. LABOR DAY. Leave Saturday morning, meet up Saturday evening, eat, hang out, etc., ride Sunday, head back home Monday morning. Hmm... This trip might get planned.

Yeah. I work 40 hours a week (53 last week), usually evenings/late nights, and then sleep like 10 hours a night if I can.

Hahaha, awesome.  That's exactly what I was thinking.

Thanks for the tip Trwhouse.  I do think you were talking about Alpha's bike, but if you look closely in the picture of my bike, my brake line routing is the same.  This is infact the factory routing for our bikes.  I'm not sure if that is an 01+ thing or an "F" model thing, as both of our bikes used to have fairings.

Dude, Alpha, on Sunday Sept. 3rd (Labor Day Weekend) a few friends and I are heading down to a bike rally in a town called Cassiday, KS about an hour and a half south of here.  We have all been excited about this and I somewhat planned it, so I'd get in trouble if I canceled.  We'll deffinately have to plan a trip to OKC for sometime this fall.  Any other riders in the area that wanna join?

I have a better idea... got a place for me to crash on Saturday night? Maybe I'll just make the trip up that weekend.

Also - wtf?! LED tail light stolen out from under me (you IMed him right before I did). Punk ass cracka'.
