No but really, do we have miles of chrome, extended swingarms and NOS?  (Ok I'm going to be guilty of that last one this winter probably....)

Whats wrong with miles of chrome, extended swingarms if thats what your into?  If your happy with it then go for it.  Bling bling bikes are nice to look at and I'm amazed at some of the stuff they pull off.  Sure some of it is over the top or just plain silly but hey to each their own.

You know it's basically the same BS everywhere you go.  Just enjoy your bike the way you want to, but please think about what you are doing on public roads becase you might end up killing someone besides yourself.

Summer hits and I see people wearing shorts, t-shirts and flip flops.  Personally I don't care, it's not my problem if  they crash.  They see the gear when they bought their bikes, they see others riding with gear on, if thats a risk they wan't to take then fine let them, no need to keep bashing / name calling them.

Oh and sky diving is fun :thumb:

Aaron, the difference is, I'm making an observation, you're making a judgement you don't know jack about. Of course I should expect that from an "elitist nancy boy" like you.

Quote from: Ed_in_Az on August 18, 2006, 10:26:39 PMI know everything about everything and everyone and I'm always right.  Even when I'm wrong, I just alter reality until I'm right.  There's no disagreeing with me or anything I say about anything, ever.  If you think you're right, check with me and I will tell you if you are...  But, you will only ever be right if you agree with me.

Dude...  Get over your bad self.

People do stupid things.  Sometimes they do them with full knowledge of the possible outcome, but most of the time people do them without thinking about it or without knowing what might happen.

Which is worse?

I've exceeded the speed limit...  I've ridden without a jacket, without boots, without gloves, without eye protection, and even without a proper helmet.  It was stupid of me to do those things (I even felt stupid at the time, thinking about "what if...") and now I always wear my gear.  If I can pass on the knowledge that those things are stupid and should be avoided, then someone may think a little harder about their actions.  It might just make someone more likely to wear gear and slow down a little for that blind corner...  I know reading about other people's experiences has made me think a little harder about the potential outcome of my actions.  I don't take a corner as fast as I possibly can...  I don't ride without proper gear...  I ride slower in the rain, at night, and when 2up...  I think about safety more often than I would have on my own.

We're a support network.  We try to help people make the "right" decisions about their lives and their safety.  Sometimes we yell at people and call them names, but asking nicely doesn't always work...  We support those that make safe decisions and inform (and sometimes berate) those that don't.

So...  Ed...  Wear your gear, ride safe, and STFU you damn squid! :flipoff: :icon_mrgreen:

My point is, back in the day, the cliche "do as I say not as I do" symbolized the hypocrisy of adults. Today it reveals the hypocrisy of the youth telling others the same thing. There is a calculated risk in drinking a glass of water. Life isn't safe. To boast about all the gear you wear and how safe you are and how stupid anyone is who disagrees with YOU, and then race around the countryside at triple digit speeds is just arrogant hypocrisy."do as I say not as I do"
Yeah, no judgment there.

Come on, Ed, you're a grown man.  Get your story straight.  If you're going to engage in a debate, at least do it honestly.  If you feel you need to cheat to win well...  :dunno_white:

I have to admit that I break triple digits quiet often on my rides, my gear matches my bike & I have modded my bike. OMFG I'm a squid

Looks like it's time to sell the GS & get a scooter.
