Just an update...  I love 'em.  I have seen less people coming at me fast when at a light (especially at night).

I have gone by some cops in their cars, but so far, no one's pulled me over yet.

Glad you like it.  I am sure that it is illegal here in VA to add lights as well.  But like I said before there are exceptions when you are on a motorcycle as long as the additions aren't purly cosmetic.  The lights that blink and then go solid when you are applying the brakes are illegal here, unless it comes from the factory that way and i don't think there is a bike that does.  I see those quite often in really populated areas.  I think you will be alright even if you get pulled over and have to explain why they are there.

Can always say you were just feathering the brake.  That's what I do just to let everyone behind me know I'm slowing down.

I just came back from night class.  I intentionally rode into downtown Springfield, MA.

I was in front of one police car, and they did nothing.  I drove by another police car, and they did nothing.

I then intentionally drove into a contruction area that had at least two police cars.  I was going with the flow of traffic (maybe around 5 mph) and nothing.
