Bike won't Start.

I have a 96 Gs Twin with 10800 miles. It is my first bike and I have been riding it for about a month.
The Bike will not Start. It will turn over but will not start. I changed The spark Plugs, There is good spark, Good Compression, 3/4 full tank and I just put in a new petcock that came with the bike. When This first happened I changed the Spark Plugs, wich appeared slightly carbon fouled, after 5 minutes of fidling and cranking it finally started. Took it for a ride where it stalled at a red light where it took about two minutes before I could start it again. (luckly right as it turned green)
Took it home, and it never started again.

About a two weeks before this I started to notice The Bike would take longer and longer to start,  In the Last week before it didn't start, I noticed that The Choke seemed to be doing less and less. After It started It would only rev to about 3 and I had to stay with the bike and rev the engine with the choke on about every thirty seconds or it would stall.After a couple minutes, It would steady itself and hold out at about 4-5000 rpms.

That's the story I don't know what else it could be or what to test. The Bike has low miles and seemed to be in pretty good mechanical shape, well until now.
Any Help or input would be apreciated. I hope to get it back on the road before it gets too cold.

check the tank for rust or impurities in the tank, maybea clogged fuel line. Also clean the carbs if the bikes been sitting before u owned it. Goodluck.

The most likely culprit in a "crank but won't start" condition on these bikes is the carburetor.  Clean it, making sure the jets are completely clear.

yeah changed my mind after i read a second time, carbs or fuel line somewhere.  Might be a vacume problem as well have you tried seeing if it will run on prime?

Yeah, I agree with the above posts, clean the carbs and tank, new fuel lines (cheap at any auto parts store) and put a fuel filter on it before you put it all back together. It could be your plug wires coming loose too, more likely a fuel system problem, but make sure your electrical connections are tight.
