My standards aren't the problem.  I just get REAL nervous around a girl I like.  The only time I'm not nervous around them is when I know that there is a ZERO percent chance (ie: married, b/f, age...)

My main problem is that when I DO get enough courage to talk to a girl, I talk to her as if I wanted to be "friends".

About 6 years ago, I became close friends with a girl I liked.  We talked about everything (she even talked about her current b/f at the time).  9 months later, she broke it off.  As a friend, I was there for her, but I realized I really liked her.  It took me a couple months to muster up the courage to ask her out.  We went on a date.

Sorry to say, it didn't work out.  Became too weird.  I haven't seen or talked to her since then.

I know the right girl for me is out there...  But I just can't afford to fly out into space.
