Lights flickering while riding?

I rode at night for the first time the other night, and notice my lights (Tach, Speedo, Headlight, et all) all flicker while riding, getting noticably dimmer and brighter as I drive.  It happens while I am at a constant RPM, so its not the revving of the engine doing it apparently..  Is this a problem?  Its more annoying really to me... THere is a new battery on the bike this year.

Sounds like a bad ground connection someplace.  Check the tightness of the battery terminals and the ground bolt on the frame...wherever that may be.
