Just cleaned carbs, shimmed needle 1mm, and turned screw out to 3 1/4 turn, also added fuel filter. Here's the problem, the bike will not idle good. I set idle and then blip throtle and rpm hang up or comes down very slowly.(sing of being lean) THis is with the bike on prime b/c there is not enoufh fuel flow when it is on ON. The bike run very good when driving at all rpm's but when idleing at stop light the rpms rise.(sing of air leak). You name it I checked it or cleaned and rebiult it.Petcock may be a problem, but i rebiult that aswelll and all is good. Flowt hight good. Carbs are sinked. most peoples bike run bad at all rpm's after faulty carb work, but bike runs great, just wont idle. Again, I cheked it all, but i must be missing something. Any help would be aprecated, and dont mind spelling, it was a long weekend in the garage.( no i Just spell like a 6 year old :))
The right way is always the hardest, most expensive, and time consumming way.

My money is on an air leak. Check the rubber boots between motor and carb, the o-ring at the vacuum ports, and the diaphragm.

the o-ring at the vacuum ports
+1, the o-ring under the diaphragm covers, around the vacuum spigots (for vacuum sinking the carbs).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Yup, sounds like a vacuum leak. Try spraying carb cleaner on the potential leaks to help you find it.
