Yea baby ... dog eaten bike is back on the prowl and looking for dogs ...
Wiring harness was chewed, rear and front fender was too ... so were assorted hoses and wires including the freaking black box and regulator rectifier ... Tank and sides were scratched up by what I now believe were teeth ... but then, chemicals in the paint ... they must have poisoned the dog ... hopefully into dying a slow and painful death ...
Bike still needs a title, and some minor bits like Air filter, new keys etc ... but its ready to kick the ass of any dog stupid enough to cross its path.
BTW the left pipe turned cherry red near the head after 10 mins of choked/non choked running. I dont have a air filter but its jetted to WFO ... for the pod K&N ... so any reason the pipe should be cherry red ... I was standing in my driveway idling it ... so I dunno ... maybe the lack of air flow ...
Cool.

Sounds like an air leak.  Boots from intake to carb all f%&ked up?  What about the vacuum ports, got those plugged up right?  What kind of jetting is "for WOT with pods"?
1992 GS500E
||Carb = #40 non-bleed primary jets, #147.5 mains, 1mm total washer stack||
||Engine = K&N Lunchbox, full V&H exhaust||
||Suspension = stock rear, Progressive spring + 15w oil in front||

Turd Ferguson

Yeah, with all of the trouble you had with vacuum lines, I'd look for a vacuum leak.  It sounds lean as heck!  What kind of bike are we talking about here?  A GS?  You've got so many damn bikes, its hard to even guess!

sounds like air is leaking at the exhaust header/engine point of connection. Happened to me when I painted my gs exhaust and didnt put it back on right. does it sound louder?

Trying to get an abandoned vehicle title for the bike?

I've had a header glow red before...the intake boots were bad....it had  classic hanging rpm/lean thing going on....(ran great after I put new intakes on it..)

When the 2nd Amendment is lost, the rest will soon follow.

Torque is LBs-FT Damn it.
Yeah that was me.    One of my rides

The Buddha

This idles great, plugs burning brown (very very dark but brown) ...
It actually starts up without choke also. The header glow was just left pipe and the bolts were not just loose ... they were like 1/2 thread away from falling off ...
Cool.

Dr. Love

Back in the days a German sheper shew-up the radiator of my dad's Kawi ZL1000 (Eliminator 1000)... neverthless he got his share of ethylene glycol and was no more. :icon_twisted:

The Buddha

I wish I could feed the damn dog ethylene glycol myself ...
Honestly for chewing up an eliminator (owned 4 at one time 2 1000's and 2 900's- still own 2 - one of each I think they are the coolest damn things this side of a maxim X) ... the damn dog deserved to die.
One of my 1000's was one where I cut a huge trench in the seat and made it into what now is copied by bourget in building them custom frames for harleys ... sorta ...
Cool.
