Where do you sit?

I was messing around with my seating position today when riding the gs. Just curious to see where everyone else puts their bottom when riding. Since I got the gs in March, I've been riding with my butt toward the front of the seat. I noticed today that I have quite a bit of room to move back until I feel the raised section of the seat. I like being a little farther back because it put me in a more forward leaning position, but it felt like I had too much of my weight toward the rear. Just wanted to know where everyone else likes to position themselves when riding the gs: up against the tank, middle, or scooted all the way back. Are there any advantages/disadvantages with the different positions?

I find I have more stability if I sit further back on the seat.  Recently I switched from the stock seat to an aftermarket gel.  The new seat tends to "push" me more towards the tank.  I feel like the bars are more wobbly when I'm positioned that way.

i sit as far forward as i can . i use to race motocross so its normaly for me . its also ...better in my views... as long as you have controll of that front it the back end can do damn near what ever it wants as long as you have controll of the front end .... the back and is a follower .. :) and it lets me get a better grip on the tank

I try not to sit all the  way up front, mostly because of the stock front springs and the fear of hitting a bump a little too hard and hurting myself, I feel like it does take weight off the front tire though.

When I'm in traffic, I sit forward...  That way I can keep a little more upright and not be as far from the handlebars...  I can keep my shoulders down and my arms bent while still sitting up.

When I'm riding slow I sit forward or in the middle of the seat.

When I'm on the freeway, I sit as far back as possible and lean forward to keep my arms bent.

I sit/stand on the tank, when the ladies are watching  O0

srsly, I never really noticed.  sometimes I scoot back  for comfort, I guess.
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

I'm a short bastard. With short arms. So I sit way forward. Hit a bump the other day going really fast (didn't see it).. squashed the hell outta my nuts!

I move occasionally though, to keep my ass from getting sore.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

So that's how I got my puny gonads...

But seriously...  I usually sit near the tank, unless I decide to put my feet up on the passenger pegs.  If I do that, I sit all the way to the back.  It's a comfortable position when at highway speeds.
