So I was at work today pulling my hair out waiting for that truck to show up, finally it got there late in the afternoon. Took me about an hour or so to uncrate it and start it up. Finally after I got it all ready to go I was off work and made my way home. WOW, I love this bike! Everything about it is soo nice. It actually feels easier to ride than the GS. I feel that there is plenty of power below 6k rpm for daily riding. I am going by the break in so I can't do more than 8k for the first 500 miles. Which is fine with me. The bike also seems easier to balance at low speeds as well. The FI is nice too. I think I will have plenty of room to grow on this bike, and plenty of power probably for the rest of my life. I would be out riding right now, but, it's started to drizzle. It's funny cause when I rode my friends GSXR home it started to drizzle too....weird...maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't have this bike? Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love it and that nobody else should get one because there are already too many of them around.  :). THERE'S EVEN A CLOCK!!!

edit: might help if I say it's a 06 GSXR 600 blue/white...pictures to come...
I have since put on the cowling instead of the seat.

seriously don't worry about break in time.  Change the oil at 500 miles just to get all the foreign stuff out...do it again at 1500.  But, in general, ride the bike how you intend to always ride the bike.

I'll just go by what Suzuki recommends...I think they know best since they do this for a living....but thanks for the advise

not to be a jerk, but I just feel better doing what they say

Suzuki has to promote riding styles 100% compatible with street riding...do you really think they're going to tell you to womp on it?

Oooh or better yet, do you think they keep the GSV-R under 8k for 500 miles? lol

either way, it's you're bike.

So what does SUZUKI say about service?  1st service at 600, then at 1500?

I think that's pretty close if that's right.

Well if there were promoting safe riding, wouldn't they say keep it under 6k rpm forever? They say 8k rpm till 500 miles, then 14k till 1000 miles, then 16k above 1000 miles. Plus it helps you learn the bike better and not kill yourself at first.

Well, they also tell you to shift WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY early...

So, who knows.

I'd go with the "Get to know your bike" theory. :thumb:

Wow, your bike is gorgeous!  The '06 GSXR is just an awesome piece of machinery.  There isn't anything wrong with that bike.  Adjustable rearsets, slipper clutch, great midrange torque.. the bike is absolutely perfect.  Let us know a bit more about its riding characteristics after spending more time on the bike.  And ofcourse, ride safe  :)

Most important thing about breaking in the new bike is varrying (sp?) your RMS.  Don't just cruise at a constant RPM.

Hey you got the same color as my wife's bike, check out www.tapeworks.com they have some stuff out for the 600's if you want to change some of the decals.

Besafe on your new bike and have fun  :thumb:

I would change the oil 3 times before 600 miles, lots of crap can be in a new engine...

Shes a beauty :thumb:  Give a ride report after you get a few miles in...
