I just bought a 96 gs500e, and i need to take it to a mechanic.
It dies on me all the time, the choke doesnt work properly, and it has absolutely no power.
The previous owner put in a stage 3 jet kit and k&n filter, and i think thats where the problem is (i dont think he installed it correctly).  I also think that it might need a valve adjustment and who knows what else.

Does anyone know of any good mechanics in San Jose area that I could take it to?

Thanks

Welcome!  The only one I've been to is Double R Cycles (http://www.doublercycles.com/).  They look like a decent shop but are quite expensive.  After taking my bike in and getting an estimate I decided to dig in and do the wrenching myself!  :o

scratch might now of other places as well.

Evolution Suspension, too!  :icon_mrgreen:

They've done 600-mile, 1k-mile, and 4k-mile services for me, as well as lowering my baby. They've always treated me right, and they have the CUTEST dawgie!  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I swear! he's like 6'5", 240 lbs, and makes the motorcycles that are parked outside start as he walks by them!
