just recently put on a k&n lunch box...wondering what size jets to pop on my bike.  shes been running not so well lately, revvs up and down and has problems starting so im replacing boots adjusting valves the works.  because standard cleaning of carbs and throttlecable adjustment and lubrication handed me no results.  thanks in advance and safe riding.  -jason

i actually had it rejetted with some size jets i forget, i could take a look after i take it apart.  it had problems before i rejetted actually,  i just had a lunchbox that i got when i bought my bike and when i went to check my throttle cable i also rejetted and added the filter.

my bike is a 93 with 14,000mi.  just wondering what the recommended sizes are for jets and #of washers and what size washers for the  needle after the lunchbox.  thanks

if you are rejetting with stock exhaust, I am a veteran at this!(ok i did it once but took my bike/carb apart about 10 times)  Things I did:

-Make sure the carb is working all gravy
-check and set float height levels
    -clean carbs
-replace any damaged looking o-rings/seals(I replaced tiny tiny o-ring at the top of the clide cover seemed to help)
-put 1 #4 washer on your carb needle(you can TRY 2, but I have one and its fine)
-replace pilots with size 40 jets
-replace mains with 140's
-air/fuel screws at 2.5 turns out

If i can think of anymore I'll add

alright i have my bike in pieces right now and hope to order the parts soon, and maybe request the valve adjust kit while im at it.  thanks

idk if it helps but i got jets from a local sportbike shop.  he let me just trade in my old jets for ones he had!  it was sweet.  as for any o-rings i went to a small hardware store and compared parts they had.   smaller hardware stores have a larger selection for most harder to find things.  my 2 cents...

ive been told 127.5 140 and 147.5 which should i get for my mains?  i just have lunch box as a modification.

i tried 147.5's at first, way too rich.  the 140s i have now(1k miles on it now probably) seem great to me thats what I'd try.

it varies from person to person, you really need to find the correct jet by trial and error. :icon_rolleyes:

ok so i think ill try 40 pilots the 140mains and a washer on each needle.  im going to try to fix my revving issue while im at it.  i think i have to assume that its a vaccum leak of some sort since my throttle cable seemed alright.  so im going to try to replace the boots and some orings. ill see what i can do to adjust the valves while im at it too. thanks guys ill keep you up to date
