errrrr, why aren't my turn signals working?

So in reassembling my bike, everything is cool BUT I can't get my damn turn signals to work right, mostly because I didnt take .4 seconds to take a quick picture before unhooking everything.  The wiring diagram in the Clymer's manual has to be the most disorienting thing I have ever seen.  So as I have it theres the two turn signals each of which have a B and B/W wire coming from them.

The wiring diagram shows that the right B connects to the green wire from the wiring harness and the left B connects to the B wire in the wiring harness (maybe the other way around but I tried both) and the two B/W wires connect to the B/W with two female ends.  Everything is connected to what seems to be the correct color but it doesn't work (front or rear, which leads me to believe that something with the rear MIGHT be wrong but I'm not sure).

There is also a brown and black wire that are below the headlight which I don't know what to connect it to becuase if I connect the wires as listed above, there arent any more wires to connect.  If I connect the turn signal to the brown wire it stays on all the time, which leads me to believe that it is the wire responsible for keeping the tail lights on even when not braking (which isn't currently happening)............

So after that long mess I end up just that I'm confused...

This is correct

This is also correct.

The colors for the rear are the same as the respective front.

Again, you are correct.  There is a spare brown wire and a spare black/white up front.  They should be stowed in the headlight bucket.  The brown wire has 12V on it whenever the iginition switch is on.

Me too.

Do the turn signals light up? Do any blink? If so, which ones?  Under what conditions?

Have you verified the connections at the turn signal switch and the turn signal relay?

Well I guess I should go back and check where the wire connects to the turn signal switch itself...

As it is nothing lights up but when I push the indicator switch right or left or in, I can hear a slight noise coming from the general area of the fuse and voltage regulator etc.

If you're satisfied that the wiring is ok you can test the ckt by jumping across the lt. blue and orange wires at the turn signal relay connector.  Pull the relay and use a short piece of wire (paper clip?) to jump the wires,  turn the ignition key switch on and actuate the turn signal switch to one side.  The turn signal lamps and turn indicator lamp should all light steady. Check the other side the same way. If they don't light up then the wiring is still not right.

You didn't install LED turn signals did you?
