So I went to a bikenight tonight, and got rained on both going there and coming back. No big deal, I like riding in the rain, and it was fairly warm. Got home, turned around and went back out the door to a restaurant with some friends. On the way home, I saw something come out of a car in front of me in the left lane (I was in the center). I swerved, thought I missed it. Kept riding, no biggie. Stopped at a light about 1/2 mile away, sat at the light, and upon take off, noticed the bike didn't want to respond to steering inputs. "Odd", I thought. So I slowed down and stopped at the next red light and looked... sure enough, the front tire was flat. The guy I was following home took off when the light turned green, and I had no way of catching him. I thought about pulling into the gas station next to me, and calling someone to come get me. Nope, cell phone's dead, so I had no way of getting in touch with anyone. So I had to limp the bike home for about a mile, give or take. Man, that sucked. Scary. So now I'm gonna swap the front tire from my wrecked bike onto Dave's running bike. Looks like a fun project for me tomorrow, if it doesn't rain. So, Dave, when you read this.. I owe ya a new front tire. I have the worst luck ever. Maybe I should just stop riding before a chasm opens in front of me and swallows me whole (along with Dave's bike). Fortunately, I have an interview for a part time job (20 hours a week) that should be fairly easy and pay decently. I was thinking I'll buy a set of leathers soon.. but now it looks like I'm buying tires/having tires installed. f%$k. I'm incredibly frustrated right now.

How was everyone else's night?

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Great night for me!  Sucks about the tire.  Got kinda cold here in Texas tonight.  Had to put my liner in my mesh Jacket.  Feels like 60ish.

Lol. Poor you, 60 whole degrees. Come up to PA and ride in a spring jacket when its 40 out. Than you'll really be needing that liner.

Hey NGFL, thats some serious bad luck you got there.  I think I have an extra front tire at the house on another front rim I bought awhile back.  Hmmm now that I think about it the tire on there is probally to old.  Anyway once I get a katana rear rim I'll be getting new tires front and rear anyway so no worries.  Have seen one on ebay auction ends tomorrow, will be bidding on that one.

An, why would you want to borrow a 750 when your next bike is not going to be a gsxr?  If you want to ride it come on over you can try the 600 and the 750.

Glad it wasn't worse.  Glad you survived.  Do we know what caused the flat?
