just a few suggertions & I think it'd look good.

1- tuck the pipe into the frame of the bike. right now it hangs out too much and just looks like a monstrosity; even when painted black. you'll probably have to bend the pipes rather than weld them to get a good curve. what ever can be done to hide the pipe better would look great. ideally the high mount's pipe should hug the frame and tuck in behind the passenger peg. right now it's just sticking out there & is a huge eyesore.

2- get the can in-line with the tail plastic.

just some constructive criticism. hope it helps

makenzie71

nah I think the pipe looks a whole hell of a lot better black...doesn't quite stand out as much.

The tubing has to be routed that way for a couple of reasons.  There isn't room behind the peg to route it closer to the frame.  Bending up right after the peg to level the pipe some would interfer with peg operation.  If the pillion peg wasn't there, things would be completely different.

People requested something along the lines of the TL1000R or RC51 factory exhausts....this is all I could deliver.

And the cans do just fine...my TL runs 127rwhp and it has them.  Why don't you look up how many 127rwhp TL's there are lol

Who makes those twin highmounts? I want them!

If you're talking about the ones Buddha posted, the "holeshot" logo printed on the cans should give you a clue.  And that's not a GS they're on.

I am surprised that you did not put some kind of S-bend after the peg to angle the exhaust down some. There is room, evethough it would not have been mounted as high as it is now, which looks like crap.
Common sense in not very common.

Well, it does sorta look like arse.  The angles are all wrong.  It's a better job than I could ever do... but that's why I'm not doing it.  I agree it needs to be in line with the tail to not make my eyes cross when I look at it.  I would have photoshopped a few revs before making anything out of metal.

BTW Mak is not exactly shy about his opinions, and I'm sure he can take it as well as he dishes it out.

That in a single exhaust would be fargin awesome. Mak, can you fab a quickie up like that? I like it better than the the high mount, cuz it follows the line of the tail..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

You're forgetting the fact that almost everyone of those was NOT a high-mount (which is what I got requests for) and the few high-mounts you did picture I can't replicate because of the pillion pegs.

I've said this.  Numerous times.  Pay attention.

cafeboy

hey Mak    others always know a better way to do things or they say but the prob. is if you know how then do it. what it all comes down to is if you can do it better then you do it and if you can't then.........shhhhhhhhh

don't get your knickers in a twist, i was just posting some pictures of how a high mount should look, i realise its impossible to do the same with out hacking off the foot pegs. no offence was intended. although i have seen an under tail exhaust with the original foot pegs, ill see if i can find pics of that
