Personally, if you're gonna do a high mount, I think you should lose the pillion pegs.  The purpose of a high mount is to make the bike more track friendly, in which case you don't need pillion pegs.  Even if you were to leave them there for the street like in this setup, the hott blonde chick in the bikini and flip flops riding on the back might burn her cute little feet and no one wants that.  But hey that's just my opinion; if you want to make something more track friendly, it's gonna cost you in street friendliness.

thanks for the great pics hmmmnz!

you guys across the pond have some really great looking bikes!

I think its about time we caught up... :icon_mrgreen:

I'm sure a lot of people on this site have seen the bike with the undertail exhaust. I think it has a different swingarm... I could be wrong though. Regardless it is a sweet setup.

He's just mad 'cause everyone thinks his exhaust is ugly. :dunno_white:

makenzie71

Not mad about that.  I'm only disapointed that I took both mine and Bradley's time up to build what was repeatedly requested of me only to have zero interest.  It's actually of little consequence, though...soon I'll be a little too tied up in carbon components that I'll not have much metal-working time.

Hope the carbon components are pretty.

Mak, I actually want your exhaust... I just can't afford it... =/ sorry bro. Like I said, if/when I get that job, then we'll talk.

Also, I'm thinking of removing my pillion pegs, cuz honestly, putting people on the back doesn't appeal to me. Even though I now have a spare helmet, so that I can wear one when I put people on the back.. the one time I've had a girl back there made me so nervous it's not even funny. Plus, I only know like 3 or 4 girls who want to ride on the back with me, and they all have boyfriends, so screw 'em...

So I wouldn't mind losing passenger capabilities for a really KICKASS high mount...

Also, we'll talk about those carbon fiber parts if/when I get the job..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

people were expecting your highmount to look.... like a highmount; hence, multiple requests for a highmount:

I dunno wtf this is, but there's no way it's going on my bike:

How can you advertise something that sounds so great, tell everyone that the above pic is the final product (+black paint), and get all pissey because noone on this forum is dumb enough to buy your crap exhaust????

makenzie71

Does what's in that pic look anything like this:

??

I didn't think so.  The bike wasn't handy after I'd finnished the pipe up.  The black enamel is an option.  The flushed up high-mount can't be built without chopping the rear pegs.  I mean how many f%$king times do I have to post the same shaZam! before you'll get it through your head?  If you'd pay attention to what people say instead of posting random shaZam! all over people's threads you might have figured it out by now.

hmmmnz

what size is the pipe?? it looks a little to fat mabee a size down would be a litle more subtle.
ok you want to keep the rear pegs why not go behind it?? that way you could get a better curve

just my opinion, nothing against yours, so don't jump down my throat

There's not enough room behind the peg to allow propper suspension travel.  I used tubing that allowed for a good transition between the stock headers and the new muffler.  Off the headers is 2", then it expands to 2.25"...it's certainly not gigantic by any means.

I am fairly certain the header pipe is not 2" in diameter.

Stock primaries are 1 5/8" if I'm nto mistaken.  The secondary is 2 1/8" just befor the muffler.

The new pipe uses the stock primaries and goes to 2" ID after the merge and expands to 2.25" ID.

CRXDrew

is that with a fluxcore welder or something :o

Definitely not gonna attract alot of people with that kind of fit and finish. Tig welded exhaust with aesthetic curves in SS and then you may get a more positive response. But hey... if you like it.. rock it.

I'll make one eventually once I come up with some more scrap. Might have some spare tubing after I make my new wastegate dump tube for the CRX. I could easily make a SS, mandrel, tig'd, engine-back exhaust but honestly it just wouldn't be cost effective because who wants to dump $$$$ on these bikes. Just another thought when it comes to your business model.
New to motorcycles.... old fart with Turbo Hondas. :)

ultimately that is the point. these bikes are cheap. many have them as 'first' bikes so why spend money on them. people will spend money on mods because it makes them happy, but everyone has a limit. I suppose the new F model changes that business model a bit as the F owner is more likely to want some goodies...

Pretty much why I'm not worried.  I got requests...this is the closest compramise I could manage between all the requests.  I've got other work, though, so it's not something I'm depending on...I'll stick to doing custom jobs upon request.

You need tube-bending facilities to manufacture efficient and good looking high-mounts. Its next to impossible to weld straight sections together to form tight and smooth bends. Look at the pics, all bends and no welds but you have to give Mak some credit for his foresight and what he has achieved.
This is how the Pro`s do it.
