Got a new clear visor and pinlock anti vog insert and the thing really works,  installed it last night put my helmet on ran around my neiborhood breathing really hard, hmmm I must have looked like a nut .

Anyway it never fogged up.  And it was a bit chilly last night when I did this.  So if you have a problem with your visor fogging up get won't be disappointed with the pinlock insert.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I'm thinking about getting this, but it seems pretty dang spendy, 80 bucks. i only paid 60 for my blue mirrored lens. plus i don't like how it's always clear on the outsides.

So buy some cat crap or other spray on product. You'll either be happy with it, or you'll kick yourself for being cheap and wasting $20 on a product that doesn't work when you could have got one that DOES work for $80.

Or just switch to a Scorpion helmet. Their factory anti-fog is amazing. Never had mine fog EVER. My glasses used to fog though, before I switched to contacts.

$80? From where? I paid $55 for mine, after tax! And that was in August, when they'd just come out!

IIRC, Rain-x specifically says to never apply it to anything plastic or polycarbonate, as over time it will cause the plastic to yellow and become brittle... I dunno bout you, but I don't want a brittle visor. Just my $.02

Yea, I see your point but I have used it on my helmet for 2 years now and no problems.. I also have used it on my ski goggles that I have had for 10+ years and they are still fine  :thumb:

I found that when I used rain-x or fog-x on my visor it increased the amount of glare. Seeing as how half of my commute every day is into the sun...I can't handle that lol.

Really! On Scorpion's website they said msrp for 80 I believe so that is what I got it for at the dealer. (I belive it was 80, whatever the msrp is that is what I paid)

NiceGuysFinishLast

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but aren't your prices in $CDN? I just thought of that.

I finally got a chance to use my pinlock shield this morning on my way to work. It was working perfect untill i got to the top of the hill where it was a little foggy and the inside of the upper left corner got fogged up. I continued back down the other side of the hill and I even poped the shield up for a while and the fog never went away. I'm kinda dissapointed about that.

What causes the shields to fog up?  Temp differences?

Mine only fogs on really cold or really hot days, and even then it isn't an issue, I just raise it a crack and within seconds it is gone.

I notice it mainly if it is extremely hot out and I am sweating at the brow. If I crack the vents on my helmet it goes away.

It has never been a serious enough issue for me to drop $50-$80 on it.

So my question is why does it affect some people enough to spend the money? Should I worry about my helmet nto fitting correctly or something?
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P
