I just learned that I will never have to take more than 14 hours per semester for the rest of my undergraduate work. Now, given, I'll have to take two classes over the summer over the course of my undergrad work, but it's two courses... over 2 summer schedules. It'll give me something to do. Also, during my first semester of senior year I only have to take 13 hours worth of classes, and my last semester will be 10 hours. So, 13 to 14 hours of degree-specific courses, rather than 16 to 17 hours per semester as my degree plan has it layed out. AND I will still graduate at the same time as everyone else. Awesome!!

I can't take any more than 14 hours per semester either, simply because of prerequisites and whatnot. So basically with all the credits I transferred in with, I am being forced to take it easy. :)

I also have time to take fun PE classes. Sweet.

That'll give you time to intern somewhere...   :thumb:  REALLY good news, since a degree doesn't mean a whole lot without some real experience in your field.

Yep, good advice there...  I co-op'd with a company that ended up hiring me, still work there (here) :thumb:

Yup, a motorcycling friend of my father's has an internship lined up for me this summer. I am going to try and work my summer school schedule around my internship schedule. I am sure I can work something out.

Wish I was in the same boat Alpha.  I'm loadin on the hrs to get out of school.  I hate school, but I also hate being so strong and cut from all the hard labor I've been doing.  Ready to exercise the brain alittle more on the job.  What kinda internship you got lined up?  I'm looking for one as well.  You might check into American Iron Horse in ft worth for future interneships.  Do alot of Pro E, and they love bikers.

bah...kalee has to pay for 15 hours whether she takes it or not...

That would be nice, my last few semesters all had around 17 credit hours.  The last two semesters were the worst with senior design eating up so much time.

+1 to internships and co-ops, I probably still wouldn't have an engineering job without em

Deffinately get a good job.  I'm graduating in May and I've recieved 3 offers already.  I'm talking to about 10 other companies right now and will be interviewing with most of them soon.  I have been hooked up with all of them through my internship.

You're so lucky.  I ended up doing a worthless minor and my senior year was hell (took 17 hours both semesters, like manofthefield).  As far as internships go, I agree with the other guys - great hookups and job opportunities afterwards.  Austin has a lot of EE-related stuff, DFW has great ME jobs, and Houston has tons of ChemE, if you're looking for some variety.
