It took me over an hour to go 25 miles from school to home. Simple math says thats less then 25 miles per hour!!! :cookoo: I was loosing my mind! I just wanted to not have a car infront of me for the shortest time so I could actually get out of first gear and not bogg down in 2nd. I was swerving back and forth trying to keep my sanity. Never should you have to put yur foot down while on interstate. Freaking post katrina new orleans!!!

Dude, welcome to my LA daily commute. 10 miles about 45 minutes. Crawling through Hollyweird in first gear sucks. Man, sometimes those sidewalks look mighty tempting.

When stopped I like to relax my thumbs and wrists and pull back on the levers using my back muscles instead of my hands. Or rest my clutch hand on the bar on the outside of the palm near the pinky instead of on the inside near the thumb.

So is this only legal in Cali>?

In most states it's not illegal, just frowned upon.  You won't get a ticket for lane splitting, you'll get one for reckless driving or some other type BS.  I believe that California is the only state where it is defined as legal.  I know for a fact that it is undefined in Texas, but I've been pulled over for it.

California is the only state in which one can legally share lanes (though the nitpickers here will say that it's not defined as ILLEGAL here, which is  what makes it "legal"). It seems as though most of the cages in Cali don't know it's legal and get bent out of shape. When you explain to them that it's legal, they're shocked. (Though it's gotten better in the last couple of months on my commute. More cages are pulling over and making room for me, and you can bet that I give every single one of them a wave if I possibly can!  :thumb:)

illegal in Ga, but who cares?  Everybody on a bike here does it.  If your not an idiot about it the cops will leave you alone.

10 miles takes me about 45min with normal rush hour traffic, if there's an accident it can take up to 1.5 hrs.  Thats on a major interstate.  No pitty from me with your 25 miles in over an hour.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Was it you or was it An who got pulled over and received a ticket on (I believe) his first ride, which was only around the block? I can't remember the exact details, but I remember thinking that that was some REALLY bad luck....
