After riding around the parking lot on Dave's gixxer750!!!!!!!

Holy crap.. Met up with Dave yesterday, did a quick trip up to the mountains.. didn't last too long though, cuz our hands started going numb... I learned a trick from Dave and started resting my hands on the head at stoplights.. mm toasty warm!

There was a big sensationalized 2part news report about how dangerous bikers in the mountains are on TV here in Atlanta Thurs/Fri, so I expected there to be a ton of cops.. only saw two though. One turned on his lights when I was next to him, just to scare me or something, cuz as soon as I dropped back so he could pull in front of me, he turned em back off.. toolbag.

Downsides: It was cold. It was cold. The little bolt that holds the shifter on was loose... I thought I tightened before we left, but I guess not.. I had to keep kicking it ever five minutes to make sure it didn't slide off. 2 of the 3 exhaust bolts holding the can to the flange vibrated out, and the third almost came out. Dave and I made a quick trip to home depot and took care of that.

Had dinner at a Korean restaurant.. I've never really had Korean food before, even though I'm 1/2 Korean. It was damn good.

Headed to the parking lot across the street from Dave's place and took the gixxer for a spin.. holy crap... For the most part, I stayed under 6K in 1st gear. I hit a straight (empty parking lot, 10 o'clock on a saturday night)... took it up to about 8K in first, then to 10K in second.... looked down at the digital speedo.. I was touching 90.. holy crap.. and I still had like 6K more to wind out! Man.. that thing was just... I'm speechless... I now want a gixxer6 sooooooo bad..... The nice thing was, I was as comfortable holding it up as I am with the GS.. I was kind of afraid that it would be taller/scarier.. but it wasn't.. and it evidently weighs LESS than the GS.. damn, that was sweet.

All in all, yesterday kicked ass. I just got home from a party I went to last night, now I'm gonna go try to wrench on the GS some.. maybe pull the carbs, since I should have forks later this week, and hopefully clipons not too much longer after that. The GS will ride again!

Thanks for everything Dave!

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Exciting!  Sounds like a fun outing.  I have a friend with a GSX-R750 and he wont stop bugging me to ride his bike.  I wont touch the friggin thing.

You'll have clip-ons pretty damn soon my friend, don't worry.

Np it was fun except for the sun flashing between the tree's blinding us as we headed up the mountain.   and me not dressing for the cold weather .  Oh well it was a great time tho.  I told you the GSXR was very comfortable bike, and the power deliver isn't to bad.  You just gotta pay attention.

Hey next time we head out there's this other korean resturant / cafe we can try.   They have that egg / fried rice I was telling you about, with the deep fried veggies!  Really good.

If you need some extra tools you can borrow some of mine.

hahaha a couple guys from supersportbike.org (patracy and soulrider) made it in one of the clips they showed on that "motorcycling is dangerous" special...see if you guys can point out the V-Strom and MV F4.

Just saw that report from the ATL news, pickin on sportbike riders, they need to be more careful because it's not all sportbike riders.. the did mention that it was only a few that were ruining it for the responsible riders, but they also did say that 'cruisers' were more responsible.... although, it's like my fiancee's dad said, cruisers can't go 150mph!!!!!      :flipoff:

Yesterday I also had my first shot at riding a 2002 GSXR 750. A friend had just bought it a couple of months ago. He replaced the stock exhaust with a carbon can. He kept bugging me to ride it so he could find out if it sounded okay. Without exagerating that bike is easier to ride than my GS. It does everything so much better. The power is mostly on top but it's electric motor smooth. And as far as comfort goes it seems to be tailor made to fit my proportions. My friend was complaining of cramps but he's an old fart in his 40's and I'm 35.

Hmmm 102. . . thats 2nd gear

This is funny, comming down the moutains, NGFL was leading, came up on the 2nd corner and my right leg started cramping, went into a left turn and it was ok.  Then went into a right turn and my leg started cramping more so I just slowed down and stuck my leg almost stright out twoard the wheel untill the muscles in my leg relaxed.

NGFL was worried as I came up on him he was stopped looking back to see what happend to me.

Yeah, I saw you two on some news video...

Why can't I live by you guys?  We could all be friends!  Alpha can come too and we'll all be happy!

My wife can go abroad with blue05twin's wife though.
