So, for those of you who have used Kerry's valve kit, where do you buy shims to fit your bike (assuming the ones you need are not in the kit)?

Your local motorcycle, automotive, or parts supply or dealership.  I buy my shims for my TL from the farm and tracter supply in town.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Wow, is that the average price?  $9 each?  Are they pretty much a standard diameter?

Standard for many Suzuki enginges, yes. Not used in any other brands.

My old shop in Mobile, AL would trade old shims with me for free or charge me 3 bux, plus they always had some laying around. The new one I go to told me they would have to order them and it would be 10 bux or so.  So just ask around town or www.bikebandit.com has them...

If you happen to need 250 or 260, they're 5 for $5 at this site.  Good price, bad selection.

i'll have to check into the farm and tractor stores around here but all the stealers around here charge between 10 and 13 bucks per shim and have to order them always ..... At least i haven't needed any yet

Local shop.  $9 each.

Scratch, do you know if Santa Clara Cycles carries them, or do you go to Redwood City Suzuki?

4.75 per shim, plus $6 for shipping. may or may not be worth it for you.

Do we have a "cheapest online place to get X" on the wiki?  I think that would be nice.

I think I paid $12.00 at Bike World in Sunnyvale, but I was just happy they had one in stock!

+1, just bring a caliper to make sure they're giving you the right size
