Pablo, did you used to race? ...roadbikes?
If it comes out of your body you shouldn't be afraid to hold it in your hand! :o

cat 3.
road racing/stage races mostly. some criteriums, occasional time trial (especially the hillclimbs) and occasional track racing.

this was my collection of bikes.

its dwindled since my son was born 4+ years ago. I barely ride anymore. Just starting to get back out on the road on my fixed gear (the bianchi)

did you race?

Small world, cat 3! I'll be stuck as a cat3 forever! Had 15 or 16 points last year only 9 this year. Don't do many stage races, lots of crits, or hunt out the flat roadraces.I'm 6'2 and 175-180 so I don't climb so great. Even if ya don't race its good to get out and feel the ride! Take care!

its a HUGE step up to cat 2. at least on the west coast-cat2 mostly races in 1/2/pro races so you get smoked...us working folk have [had] a hard enough time training enough for cat 3. many of my racing buddies/team-mates still race and quite a few have upgraded to cat2...BUT, most of them only race masters now...

drop 30lbs and you'd be a menace in the hills (friend did that-incredible how his riding changed).

You're closer-did you ever do Killington Stage race before it went away? that was a killer 5day stage race in VT. Amazing. I've done Willamette and a bunch in CA and AZ too. LOTS and LOTS of local and central CA one day road races. My absolute favorite was Vandenburg AFB road race. HILLY 80 mile circuit along the coast...

I noticed lots of crossover between bike racing and motorcycles....8^)

Your so right, the step up to a 2 is huge! They are almost all 1/2 mixes out here. Never done those, did the Tour of Ohio last year, that was fun.
I can hang in the hills, just not with a 18year old kid who's a 130lb :) . Road bmx when I was a kid and got my 1st dirtbike when I was 14. Do you ever feel like your tap'n into your crit skills in the corners? Its so much fun!

At 6'2" and 175 pounds, he barely has 30 extra pounds to drop, man.

By cyclist std. I'm fat! Kinda... Power to weight ratio, drop'n weight is easier than an increase in wattage.

I was a pretty avid bicyclist once.  I ride a bit now, but the motorcycle habit has made me slow.  I'm 6'1" and I used to weigh 135.  I'm up to 150 now...FAT ASS!

My bikes can be seen in the background.  Two of them aren't mine:

Damn dude...  You sound like me.

6'...
Used to be 140 (Too poor to eat)...
A few years later, went up to 200+ (High paying job (at the time) where I drank Mt Dew all day, drank Captain & Coke all night, and ate out for every meal)...
Then down to 180 (Lost my job)...
Then down to 150 (started working out, stopped drinking so much soda and booze, and had to cook for myself (the best diet in the world, 'cause I a terrible cook))...
And now 185 (stopped working out and wife is cooking for me again).

Looks good turd!
My basement has many frames and what not that I've collected over the years, seems like I can never sell em! I do have to cyclecross bikes I need to unload... Hmmm.
I did get my weight down to 168, but I lost power, but I had a badass 6pack!
