Where are people getting their Progressive springs for GS500s? I looked on the Progressive website and they don't seem to be making them anymore. Am I tripping out.  :dunno_white:

If they are no more, is there a good alternative?

Also, what fork oil weight to use? I thought I read someone saying 20w, but at the stealer there were 5w, 10w, and 15w I believe.

The part number is there, but you gotta dig for it.  It's 11-1128.  You can find out more about the options at

yes, go by the part number. the springs are shared with other bikes, I dont remember which, so trust the part number even if the bike name is not gs500.

www.mawonline.com has them they are a bit slow in shipping but the prices were good.  As for fork oil try different motorcycle dealers or indepentant motorcycle shops.
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

Which ones require you to cut a spacer?  Are there springs that come with spacers etc. for the noobs out there (or right here)?

Go to sonicsprings.com

I did and there's four or so different options for the GS500.  How do you know what weight (size?) to use?

Use the email contact on the site, I think it was Rich that I spoke with, he's the owner. Told him what I weighed, and ride style. Shipped em right out. HUGE difference!
They do use pvc spacer that u cut, no big deal. Whole thing took like 20mins.
