muffler broke off....kinda

Ok, I'm cruz'n around today. Its a nice day,85. Run a little hard, and I start to notice a buzz at like 6000rpms. Thoght the bike was going south... At any rate the muffler broke at the weld, right were it connects to the pipe. Wtf? Oh well, atleast its not bad. I'm planning on a new pipe, so I guess that will speed it up a little. Anyone else have that happen?

i ran mine for a few days with no can (friggin loud, had to wear plugs when i was riding)

That's what weird, no rust. Its a 2001, 7000miles! I'm the 3rd owner, it was dropped by po but that was left side, 10mph... Dunno

happened on my 2001 as well. might have had something to do with a mod I did (gsxr peg brackets), not sure.

I was thinking, I've got big feet, size 12, maybe my heel pushed up against it. Dunno. Should have held up! Wileyco here I come.

mine might have had something to do with banging the exhaust with the centerstand when I touched down the 'stand once...

Got a 4hr training ride scheduled for the am, guess I'll get some exhaust tape when I get back. I'll rock that for a couple weeks till I can get my wileyco.

Ha Ha ... happened to me the first damn day I rode it on the damn 580 trhough D/T oakland back in 95. The bolt holding it to the footpeg carrier was long gone ... before I even bought it. It had a crack starting and I ignored it all, then bam it was gone.
Then I had a repeat with the Clamped on Kerker in 97 winter through Sac on the 5. Then I went back and picked it up cos it went to the left shoulder side of the road.

That same thing happened to that crazy deathlucky dude...

Check your exhaust tape often though. Like...every ride. That doesn't sound super safe to me.

What you mean I just can't tape it on?

There's a muffler shop around the corner I'll get em to tack it back on, but they don't open their doors on saturdays...errrr!
I've got a wileyco in the works, if I can just get srinath to help me with the jets I'll be in gs heaven

Atleast it didn't fall off and go through a windsheild, that would have sucked!
