will an '04 seat fit a '96

I have a '96gs and i bought an '04 seat off of ebay. Does anyone know if it will fit or if i could modify it easily to fit if it doesn't already? Thanks

No.  Tanks/seats different.

'89 through '00 will fit a '96.
'01+ will not.

Easy? No.

To get the '01+ seat to look right, you'd basically have to change out the tank and rear plastic...  And to do that, you'd have to fab up some new connections...


The short answer is "no."  The long aswer is, "Yes, but it takes a lot of work and fabrication."


'89-'00 seats are easier to find and usually cheaper than '01+ seats...

Easy? Yes. Ebay your seat for a profit. Buy an older model seat from someone here. Make money on the proposition. Have a seat that fits/looks right...
