I see that it's a salvaged title. What exactly does that mean? Will it just be worth less if I tried to sell it in the future?

It might be fine just as a naked bike...add seat, rear section, signals, and headlight.

Salvage title means that is was wrecked so bad, the insurance company didn't want to pay for the repairs, so they just totalled the bike and pay the owner the current value.

When that happens, the owner has a choice of buying back the bike.  It is at a smalled percentage of the value, from what I understand (AlphaFireXS can help clear this up a bit).

IMO, I wouldn't get it.  If ALL the fairings had to be removed including the seat, it must have taken a REALLY NASTY spill.

When someone makes a claim with their insurance company, if the cost of the parts approaches 70% of the retail value, the insurance company can decide to total the bike out, and give you a check for the value of the bike instead. After that you have the option of buying the bike back for the wholesale value (I bought my GS back for $650). In Texas, if you buy the bike back they will not brand it with a salvage title, but in other states they may.
