Anyway, who will decide which bike is chosen?  Voting? Mods? (I question their judgement)

What? afraid that there will be a purple bike every month?

Actually yes

600rr.net does that by poll. same as Mak says-bikes are nominated, mods/admins determine which are chosen, usually 4 or 5 I think, then general voting goes on all month. forgot what the winner gets besides bragging rights. I was thinking of taking pics of mine in track getup and taking as nasty a picture as I could-sort of an anti-BOTM entry...they also do Poser of the month...thats a funny one...

here are the 600rr.net BOTM rules, fyi.

Quote from: 600rr.net on November 16, 2006, 10:59:34 PM
Bike of the Month Rules

------------------------------------------------------------
What is Bike of the Month (BOTM)?

Show off that bike you've worked so hard on.

Once a month up to six bikes will be considered by the members who will vote on their favorite by means of public poll.

The voting period will be from the 1st of the month until the 20th of that same month. The bikes are being voted for one month in advance.
Example - On May 1 through May 20 the members will vote on who will be BOTM June. On June 1 through June 20 the members will vote on who will be BOTM July. and so on...

Members are encouraged to "sell" their bikes to other members in the corresponding BOTM thread; Talk about your mods, hard work and other customizations. Posting additional pictures of your bike however is prohibited.

------------------------------------------------------------
Prizes

BOTM winners will receive a unique profile title identifying them as a Bike of the Month winner and which month & year.

Once 12 months have passed and there are 12 BOTM winners they will all be entered in Bike of the Year. Bike of the year winners will receive a unique profile title identifying them as a Bike of the Year winner and perhaps other prizes (to be determined).

Questions about BOTM & BOTY should be directed to LtcOliverNorth.

Good luck and please enter early.

------------------------------------------------------------
How do I enter my bike into BOTM?

Members are encouraged to upload pictures of the bikes to the Photo Album and send the picture URL to LtcOliverNorth (via Private Message). You can also host the picture yourself (i.e.: photobucket, imageshack, etc.) and provide the link via PM. Please provide pictures no smaller than 640x480. Pictures larger than 640x480 will be resized to 640x480.

Pictures many not contain other bikes, people, girls in swimsuits (I know it's a shame), etc. Only 600RRs are accepted as BOTM entries. You must be the current owner of the bike to enter it.

Your picture will be placed in the next available position in the next available month. One photo entry per person (so make it a good one). Replacing/Revising the photo of your bike will not allowed once voting has begun. Posting additional pictures of your bike in the BOTM thread is prohibited.

New entries are always encouraged. If you previously participated in BOTM you cannot resubmit your bike again for the remainder of the calendar year. No purchase necessary.

That sounds like a pretty good rule set.  Make sure to save to pics in high quality.  I think the profile title thing is a good idea because giving stuff out gets complicated and costs money.  Tax write off anyone?

I hope we don't see Knopf's bike every month.  Let me be the first to nominate his bike for the first month.  It is the sweetest GS I have ever laid eyes on.

As long as it is still titled as a GS, it should not matter what else was done to it. So basically the frame has to be from a GS.  :thumb:

If not, then it may exclude my next bike....which may only have a GS frame and probably a GS gas tank.  :icon_twisted:
