Reminds me of a video shot on a KC-135 owned by NASA...one of the Vomit Comets. They took a cat and a rabbit up to try and figure out how a cat always lands on it's feet.

The poor rabbit just flopped around and hit it's nose, butt, side, back, etc.

The cat was spot on it's feet no matter which way it floated.

The verdict...the tail.  The cat used it's tail for stability/positional control.

Damn funny stuff. Had PhD's and the like rolling in the floor!
-=Doug......   IT ≠ IQ.

God save us from LED turn signal mods!

1990 GS running, 1990 GS work-in-progress, 1990 basket case.
The trend here is entropy

Cool!--That makes total sense about the tail.

This is my drooler-cat who loves to pester me while I'm on the computer.  Her flight training is an attempt to try to discourage her pesky ways.  And yes, she has a large soft king sized bed to land on underneath her.

Like the belly-flop position of the last one.

Seems the flying lessons are not working yet, considering there are two more pictures here...will wait for more.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I wonder what a Manx would do?  They're pretty neurologically messed up anyway.

Dunno about flying but my cat, Boris, is really good at this, and catching unwanted (by me) wildlife, rats, jaybirds etc....but this is what he does best...

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??
