I also similarly inherited an almost exact copy of that car a few years ago.  We drained the fluids, pulled the battery after we started and after driving it around for a while on a mixture of year old gas we found in the back seat + 5 bottles of injector body/carb cleaner and trying to blow either the engine or tranny up unsuccessfully, my friend thought it'd be a great idea to try and skip across this swamp we had always thought about skipping across.  He gets to the middle of it and the engine dies/he loses all momentum/slams the door open/runs out of there.

Do swamps take well to artificial reefs?  I haven't been back.

That looks pretty fun.  I am glad it didn't dig the front in so hard that it flipped.  You look like you may have gotten lucky on that one.

i did that with an '86 cavalier.  there was this one light that if it was green, hardly ever happened, the hill leading to where you actually crosses the road was sweet.  I jumped it one night but in landing ground a lot of metal off the bottom of the car.  It was great.  And the lady i passed right after was looking at us like we were crazy, I can only imagine all the sparks that shot from under the car on impact.

yea, we did it a few times at night and suprising there were sparks when it hit the ground (wet ground)
there were a few time i thought i was in trouble, but air bags, helment, and seat belts save lifes even the dumb ones. .....lol

well i still cant belive the car is drivable. the pop you hear at the end is the tire giving out, so on goes the spare.
and we have a 4x4 jimmy with a 4.3 to do some dirbby driving next.  damn it nice to have shaZam! to tear up.

Until you top Peter Solberg it's just lame...

There's this really great shot taken two or three years ago of him pulling off a 180ft and 64ft drop without missing a beat...can't find it...I'll scan it when I get home...

rangerbrown

rofl solberg has been doing that since day one...his cars might as well only have WOT and off.  He's binned more cars than completed races.

I gotta call BS on the 180ft... cause those pictures at 134ft...

I bet those sparks you saw, Rangerbrown, weren't from the car contacting the wet ground, but rather parts of the car contacting other parts of the car at a high rate of speed.
