Wondering if anyone knows much about or has been able to ride a Kawasaki Z750s?

I was at the Toronto Motorcycle Show last night and sat on just about every bike and was really impressed with the z750s, nice and upright but still a sporty seating position, seems like a good blend of performance/comfort/price.  Of course I would have to ride one but as of now I am thinking I might pick one up in the spring.  As much as I love my GSF, I have a few issues with it, mostly about comfort.  I Was planning a long trip (very long) with a friend of mine next summer and as much as I want to ride the bike all the way, I cant see being able to do it on the GS so if its still around it'll end up on a trailer from point to point... a total drag.  I don't think I would get much as a trade in on my GS so I think I will convince my girlfriend to learn to ride... its a 2006 with a little more than 12,000km (7500 m.).

Based on the older ZX-7R, the Z750S is tuned more like a muscular 600, making it a pretty ideal middleweight streetbike; it has plenty of power wherever you need it. Fuel injection makes cold starts effortless, and liquid cooling ensures that it won't overheat very easily.

My gripes about the bike include the lack of adjustable and/or inverted forks (like the Z1000 has), a digital tachometer, and a slightly porky 430lb dry weight. Since it's a liquid cooled 750cc engine the wet weight is around 461lbs. The shock only has preload and rebound damping adjustments, and the forks have no adjustability, if I remember correctly.

Power output is respectable for a streetbike 100HP at the wheel and 52 ft-lbs of torque. That might not seem a lot, but you  have to remember that a lot of that power is availible right away in the rev range, probably from as little as 2000rpm.

What are your issues with the GS about comfort? With a full fairing, it's going to keep the wind off you a lot better than the half-faired Z750S, and if the seat is a problem, why not consider getting one of those air filled cushions that you strap to your seat?

I'm ok for comfort on the GS... for about an hour and a half!  I find the seat and pegs too close or at a weird angle and its putting too much pressure on my lower back and right heel (both problem areas as a result of bodily abuse!).  I relieve the stain on my back by leaning on the bars, bad form I know!  I should probably be on a tourer but like the sportier bikes... like I said I do love my GS, but was just really impressed with the 750 (sitting!)

The Z750 is probably about the same as the GS comfort wise, but might be just a little bit more spread out in the peg/bars/seat area. Sit on one for an hour and a half, then see how comfortable it is.
