Is this normal?

I noticed that whenever I start the bike up (no choke needed), when I rev the engine a little the headlights become brighter. Is this typical, or is there something wrong with my battery?

that's normal

basically, the bike is fully charging the battery at around 4000~5000 RPM.  so when it's idling, there's not enough juice flowing to charge the battery AND run the electricals.
