Well as some of you may know i crashed the ZXR a month back or so, i broke a few bits on it, clutch lever, generator cover, a few plastics cracked and scratched.

To myself i broke my collarbone and slipped a disc in my back and some bruising.

But now she's all repaired and repainted. The pictures arn't fantastic because were in winter here and its never bright enough to take a decent picture so heres what i got. Let us know your opninons on the colour scheme and such. All work was done by me and my dad using proper paint  gun etc...

BEAUUUUUUUTIFUL paint job. :thumb:

Are those air intake hoses near the clipons?  Don't they get in the way?

I really like the paint scheme.  The one thing I'm not 100% fond of is the big ZXR on the tank.  That is a spot that is usually reserved for the make, not the model.  Other than that, it looks perfect.  You guys did a damn nice job.

As for the air intake hoses. . . what would they be getting in the way off? :dunno_white:

That is a bad ass lookin' bike.

well...  based on the 4th picture:

Getting to the controls on the right clipon without reaching OVER the hoses might be a problem.  Granted, it also might just be the angle of the picture.

Wow.. I'm jealous.. wish we could get the 400cc versions of superbikes over here. Man, I'd love a gixxer400 or something like that, someday. I think my dream bike is an Aprilia RSV250.. small enough for me to ride comfortably, plenty of power... and DEAD SEXY!

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Hehe im glad you all like it! It took alot of work hehe.

Ann - Yea they are! It might just be the angle your seeing it at and also the steering lock is on so that doesn't aid it too much. The intake hoses don't really get in the way because when your on it your arms are slightly bent anyway around the hoses. The hoses are also quite high (see pic 2) so they dont tend to be in the way. If they were it may only be when your doing full lock turning it around and their flexible anywhos.

We did alot of custom work, it is an ex race bike which came of the track, never been crashed but was well prepared - polished frame and track front fairing. The sides were original but they had fibre putty on them to strengthen them. The bike was already converted to be road legal when i bought it so had all the headlight in - but when we took it apart to sand it up we found that it had been cut out - hence we knew it was a track panel - also it was all fibre glass. With a mix of track plastics and orignals it took abit of fabrication work making new brackets to make sure it all fitted together properly, as in its condition we bought it it didn't fit too well.

Jake - As for the ZXR on the tank and paintscheme. I designed it with inspiration of the original model and with the AC shnitzer paint scheme in mind. (google ac shnitzer and find motorcycles on their page) I must have gone through 10 different designs drawing it out and settled on that. Its Kawasaki green with metalic silver and several clear coats all done with a compressor and spray gun and our paint booth in the garage :). The stickers are vinyl transfer thingy's - i must recommend this type as transfers wrinkle easy and break too easy when applying and these are just simple vinyl's that stick on using a clear mount which then peels away. They are a set of original ones for the bike however we moved em' round abit and split them up. All in all im extremely pleased.

Wrongside - im not sure whether you can get them in the US - they wern't imported especially in bulk, however i bet there are a few around but probably hard to find. I was unsure as to what bike to get when i got my full license. I was thinking of the GS - hence i ended up here. I also was offered a thundercat 600 which was good insurance for me £700 TPFT which nearly swayed me, but it was abit cumbersome for what i wanted, then this came up. Its good performance - standard them make around 65bhp but mine is making close to 80 at the moment. Also the insurance is cheap - i pay £500 quid - thats 200 more that what i paid for an 8bhp 50 cc

Cuda - yea we still want to do something with the wheels. Not sure what yet, there was talk of painting them green but i thought it would be too much, other idea was to put reflective green rim tape which would look stunning but the polished lips sounds good too. So that is something to come in the future!

Its almost healed now. I didn't go to hospital for any of my injuries i just waited for them to heal and my mum did most of the looking after me - shes an intensive care nurse so even though she said i should go she also said they won't do much for the collorbone except give you pain killers and a sling. So i didn't go to hospital for it and its just healing on its own. It has reset different from the other one - its more indented but hey. My back was more painful than the collarbone though. I couldn't walk because of the pain and the swelling and when most of the swelling went down a chiropractor examined me and said it was slipped disc and basically they did all the manipulation and it wouldn't go in but she said it is probably going to go back in in time and it has now but it was so painful. So im all fixed now - no pain. I heal quick hehe.
