The R6 forum definitely isn't the atmosphere that I like...

well, YEAH.  why the hell do you need to replace your lock? and thats probably the one thing you should take to the dealer to do...

Hell, even on the 600rr forum if someone is parting out a full bike less frame I'd be suspicious-same for someone trying to replace a lock...unless they were a known member already and there was a story behind it.

didnt think you'd get flamed HERE, didja?
LOL...

I used to hang out at www.r6messagenet.com back in the day, as I was in talks with a guy to buy his R6 (thank Jebus that I didn't...) and its a whole different world.  A WHOLE different world.  The average age is like 19 and they are a bunch of muscle-headed retarded kids who give motorcyclists a bad name.

In their defense, there is quite a few amazing people there too, but they are DEFFINATELY out numbered.

Damn sport-bike kids.

Turd...  You are completely correct.  I'm begining to find out these sad facts.  I'm only 25, so I may still be a "young" one...  but I ride more maturely (sp)...  I ride to live...  not to die.

A customer made a comment that I liked today...  I told him that I just bought a new-to-me bike, and when he found out it was a supersport, he said, "It's one of those bikes that goes 0 to death in no time at all."

I'm glad I'm not the type to test that theory, but I'm sorry to say that there are some who will...

Since we are kinda on the topic of keys....when I bought my bike I was only given 1 key.  I have tried wal-mart 4 times and it just never works.  I figured I was going to try home depot but never got around to it.  Does anybody know of anyother place to get a WORKING copy of a key made. Thanks.

I had a copy made (or made it myself??... I used to work there) at Ace hardware.  Works just fine.  As someone said in another thread it's an Ilco blank #SUZ18 or something

Try a locksmith.  Definitely won't charge you $13 unless they're competing with the stealer in an ass-raping contest.

~When inserted into the ignition, I sometimes have to "jam" the key in... basically... insert key "all the way"... when key stops, hit the key into the lock with the palm of your hand... then it goes in a little further.

~ When removing the key from the ignition, sometimes I have to yank the key out by the key ring.

~When inserting into the gas cap, sometimes I have to turn REALLY hard to get it to unlock... not to the point of snapping the key off, but I'm still afraid of that happening.

Get some graphite lubricant for your locks.
