Foggy Day in Houston

The fog was bad today in Houston. This is the first time I have ridden my bike in fog and it was quite an experience. You could barely see a 100 ft in front of you. I had to slow down to almost a complete stop at some stoplights because I couldn't see them. I almost hit a truck pulling a trailer because his trailer's lights weren't working. I can only imagine how visible I was to other drivers behind me.

My gloves and anything being hit directly by wind were soaked by the time I got to work, it felt almost like it rained. The whole way to work I had to wipe my visor because the moisture was acummulating quickly. Anybody have any experiences with riding in the fog? I wonder if rainx would have helped to keep wiping my visor clear.

Since I'm usually dressed for anything (textiles are great over leather; and I wear winter gloves probably 7.5 months out of the year)(better to be prepared for anything weather-wise), the one time I did ride in the fog up in the hills, I made sure not to override my visibility, but I had to push the envelope for fear of being hit from behind (made less likely by making sure there wasn't any cars going my way behind me).

Treat fog like rain, as far as the visor goes, or anything else.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
