i went to the local dealer today to try on some helemts......i tried on a shoei rf-900, z-II, arai quantum f, and signet gtr.....
i really really liked the arai's but they cost like $426 and $450 respectively......the z-II was a slighty worse fit than the quantum f but i found one online for $299 so i went with that one....solid black....cant wait till it comes in the mail....i realy wish i had another $130 for the arai tho.....
Don't mind me I'm just new.

oh yea and i finally got to see a mesh jacket in person.....they really are just mesh! made me a believer in leather.......i thought the whole jacket would be thinly padded with mesh overlay and CE armor in critical areas but its just mesh.....that was a big disappointment.....
i also tried on a kbc just for reference and it was garbage...
Don't mind me I'm just new.

Why do you think the KBC's are garbage,
i've heard them compared to the Arai's
in quality and everyhting.  jsut curious still looking to get a good helmet

nah if u try on the arai and then the kbc (or was it hjc?) and u will see/feel the difference

I've tried many of the name brands including Arai;  the Shoei RF  900 still fits my head well, but I bought a KBC VR1 this time around because it fits just as well, cost half as much and looks a bit different. Garbage it ain't.
Buy the name if you must, but good fit and reasonable cost are better reasons IMHO.
We don't really know what we're doing and even when we do, it doesn't seem to help. Bono

I just bought my girlfriend a helmet today aswell.

I bought a HJC CS12, it's a nice wine colour :)
