I took my bike in for initial service today and asked for a couple quotes out of curiosity.

They told me that installing progressive springs requires 3 hours labor (@$70/hr) + parts.

Changing tires (wheels on bike) is 1 hr labor front 1 1/2 back. That's $175!!  :o I didn't ask how much they wanted for the tires.

My initial service was 2 hrs labor + $50 in parts. I wanted it to be done by the dealer because it's so important, but I think I'll take care of everything else from here on out.

Of course, I'll have to have someone else do the tires, but I can shop around for that, I've got plenty tread left on the stock Exedra's.

Sounds about right I bet they round the hours up. If you do the progressive the "correct" way you remove the forks so that isnt like a quickie where we just swap the springs and leave the oil.

Sounds right on the wheels too if they are removing them from the bike etc. Remove them yourself and take them into the shop to change the tires for the best prices.

Your dealer labor rate is kinda high tho.
